There’s not a ton of info on these yet, but Fluke is releasing two new infrared thermometers, the
new Fluke 62 MAX and 62 MAX + (PLUS) models. Both new IR thermometers are designed to improve upon the already-decent Fluke 62. The new models are small and compact and Fluke thinks they will provide everything you’d need – as you might
expect from the well-regarded folks at Fluke. Small in size, extremely
accurate and very easy to use, the new models are IP54 rated for dust and water resistance.Fluke also designed the new 62MAX and 62 MAX PLUS IR thermometers to be precise – and yet still rugged enough to take a 3-meter drop. In fact, Fluke is touting that the 62 MAX
and 62 MAX + IR thermometers are so tough, they are the only IR thermometers around you
can handle without care.

One of the most obvious upgrades from the Fluke 62 is the shortened length of the gun. Fluke has made the 62 MAX and the 62 MAX + (PLUS) even more compact. They’ve also changed the front LED display, adding three new buttons that allow you to navigate settings and configuration for the IR thermometer. Ergonomics are also slightly improved, with a more comfortable handle shape that bows out in the middle slightly to conform to the hand’s natural shape while gripping.

We’ll keep our eyes on these new products. Fluke has yet to announce pricing for the new tools. They did, however, release one of the worst promo videos we’ve ever seen. You have to check it out… but consider yourself warned.
