The first generation of Bosch's 12V line of tools was impressive, but the fact that just about three years later they released a third generation impact driver means that they are coming after the market with a vengeance. The case in point would be the brand new PS41-2A Impact Driver. For this review I was able to solicit the second-gen PS40-2A from a friend and therefore face off the newer model against its predecessor. The results definitely proved that the new impact driver didn't just get smaller, it got more powerful - as the revised specs indicate.

For years, Milwaukee has been known for its introduction of the SawZall and advances in that tool category. As anyone who has done demo work knows, the reciprocating is a tool that is simply unmatched in its ability to demolish, disconnect, and generally destroy a jobsite - on purpose, that is. What the HackZall does is take much of what the SawZall provides and pack it into a more maneuverable tool that can be used one-handed. It also does it in a cordless form factor, freeing it even further for more applications. This is yet another unique tool from Milwaukee, and one that you won't - at least not presently - find from any other manufacturer.

DeWalt's introduced its first generation radio charger with the DW911. That was followed up by the DC011 which we reviewed earlier this year. With the DC012 DeWalt is releasing its 3rd generation worksite radio charger. The most notable distinction is the addition of three AC power outlets, each rated to 10 amps. Since they aren't rated at a full 15 amps, you're going to want to refrain from plugging in any full-size circular saws or other heavy amp-draw tools into these ports - a disappointment considering how much convenience it would add to this tool.
