Klein Tools Introduces New 3 in 1 Klein Drill Tap Tool Kit

Klein Tools is at it again in the innovation department. The new Klein Drill Tap Tool Kit promises to perform three functions that would traditionally require separate tools. Traditionally, you’d drill a pilot hole, then deburr with a separate tool if that was all you needed. If tapping threads was required, that would add an additional step and an additional tool to the process. Klein’s new kit allows you to do all three with one accessory in a single shot.

A closer look at the Klein Drill Tap Tool Kit reveals that the front of each bit is designed to be your traditional high speed steel pilot bit. Continuing down the shaft the bit will then tap the hole you’ve created. The back end of the bit helps to deburr the hole, leaving it ready for use.

The Klein Drill Tap Tool Kit comes as in a case of 8 bits. There are six common tap sizes, plus two additional bits in the smallest sizes. These are rated for use in aluminum, brass, copper, plastic, and mild steel up to 10 gauge. It’s also designed with a 1/4″ hex connection for use in either drills or impact drivers.

“Having a tool that lets you drill, tap and deburr in one step saves time and frees up space in the tool bag,” states David Bower, product manager at Klein Tools. “The taps come in a tough carrying case that can be thrown in your bag for easy access.”

Klein Drill Tap Tool Kits launched this past Friday, January 16, and should be showing up in retail stores within a month as distributors order them. There is at least one retailer that claims to have them in stock on Amazon, though their price is higher than the expected MSRP. Look for the retail price to be set at $47.25 when they arrive at most retail locations.
