Milwaukee Demolition Work Gloves Offer Comfort and Durability for Tradesmen

Work gloves – the personal protection equipment we love to hate. What’s your least favorite characteristic? For me, I can find a pair of gloves that give me the comfort and dexterity to do the work I need to, but they typically don’t last that long. Going to a more durable glove means an immediate (and often drastic) loss of comfort and dexterity. The new Milwaukee Demolition Work Gloves are trying to change that trend while staying up to date on today’s smart jobsite.

“Tradesmen’s hands are some of the most important tools they use, so protecting them is an absolute necessity. While many gloves on the market can offer adequate protection, they often sacrifice comfort for durability, and vice versa. We knew there had to be a better way to protect tradesmen’s hands, giving them increased maneuverability and durability without forgoing comfort.”

– Bobby Shaw, Director of Product Marketing for Milwaukee Tool

Milwaukee employed Armortex to improve the durability and grip of their work glove. Thumbs, fingertips, and palms are all reinforced with this material well-known in the diving community for its cut resistance. Additional protection comes in the form of knuckle pads. For comfort, the glove lining is breathable and backing is mesh to wick away moisture.  Like a good pair of cycling gloves, terry cloth has been placed on the back to allow you to wipe the sweat away from your face easily.

It’s a debate how we’d like to see touch screens tackled with gloved hands. Most of us are used to using our forefingers or thumbs to do our typing and swiping, but those are often the dirtiest parts of the glove. Milwaukee Demolition Work Gloves address this with the development of the Smartswipe Knuckle. Simply enough, you use the tip of your knuckle to manage your touch screens instead of your finger tip, eliminating the need to remove your gloves to take a call or update project software.
