The Makita 18 Volt LXT® 3/8 x 21 Inch cordless detail belt sander delivers optimum corded performance with cordless convenience. This sander features a BL™ brushless motor that delivers a maximum speed, maximum versatility and performance for up to 50% longer run time, increased power and speed. The compact sanding arm of this tool pivots up to 160 degree for convenient storage. It has variable speed control dial that optimizes belt speed from 1,960 to 5,600 ft/min and allows users to match speed to the specific application. This tool has LED light that adjusts to match the angle of the sanding arm or shape of the workspace. Sander features electric brake that allows repositioning faster for enhanced productivity. Tool powered by an 18 Volt Lithium-Ion slide style battery assures fastest charge time, more working time and minimal sitting time on the charger. Sander featured with Star Protection Computer Controls™, allows the Star Protection-equipped tool and battery to exchange data in real time. This Star Protection communication technology also monitors condition while in use to safeguard against overloading, over discharging and overheating.
