    Useful RV Surge Guard
We ordered the Southwire model 40301 wireless display and model 34931 Surge Guard Power Protection units. It took me a while to get the units to pair, I am older which is no excuse, but after connecting them, they worked as advertised. We haven't camped yet with them but I expect them to to function well. We had Campco models in past which saved our RVs on 2 occasions. These are rated well and I wouldn't plug in without one. Remember to measure the park pedestal and plug this in prior to plugging in RV to this unit. The wireless display one page instructions were confusing as it used "Surge Guard" interchangeably for both items for saying turn on/off Surge Guard, maybe it was my confusion. Southwire does have a site for tech support but I didn't need to use it since I had success pairing the items. I like the features of these which has a readout of performance and faults if they occur right on the unit.

Update. 6/25/21. Last picture shows amps and KW during use of A/C and converter on float. This is a tremendous help when using shore power. I would highly recommend this with its host surge protector. I only wish I could access with my smartphone.

Reading some reviews I was little apprehensive about ordering. However, with returns so easy I decided to try. I followed provided instructions and followed them exact. I was presently surprised as it came up in line and displayed properly. I bright inside RV and tried at several locations on outside wall facing surge protector. Distance was approximately 10 and 20 feet. It always maintained at least two bars of signal. My choice position will be based on RV site and where RV electrical is located. I will probably use the Velcro picture hangers. I was even able to use inside my home at a window just outside my own electrical connection. For me so far I’m impressed and pleased. I will update as I use it with my A/C and other equipment.

1.0 out of 5 stars Will not Connect to Surge Guard 34931!
Reviewed in the United States on December 15, 2023
Southwire 40301 Wireless LCD Display Monitor has two Rev. 1.0 and 2.0: A) 1.0 is compatible with Surge Guard 34931 prior to ver. 9B and B) 2.0 is compatible with 34931 ver. 9B. See the attached photo for complete explanation from Southwire. In my case I have the Southwire 40301 Wireless LCD Display Monitor Rev. 1.0 and I have the Southwire Surge Guard 34931 ver. 9B. I just recently bought both and the two are not compatible. So I will either have to return both items or find out how hard it is to get the Southwire 40301 Wireless LCD Display Monitor Rev 1.0 replaced with the Rev 2.0.
