Gas-Like Power, Performance, Runtime
Worx Nitro outdoor tools were engineered to provide the performance of gas-powered tools without the drawbacks of gas. Nitro mowers run quieter and cleaner and cost less to operate than gas mowers.
-
Mulch, Bag, or Side-Discharge
Depending on your lawn, the time of year, or just your preference, this Nitro 3-in-1 mower gives you the flexibility to cut your lawn how you want to, and to quickly switch between those modes.
-
Self-Propelled
With rear-wheel drive and variable-speed control. One lever changes the pace of the mower depending on your preference, or how thick the grass is.
-
High-Capacity Power Share PRO Batteries
This mower uses two powerful 20V Power Share PRO batteries for 40V of gas-like performance. PRO batteries deliver extended run times, plus heat and impact protection.
-
High-Efficiency Brushless Motor
Longer & stronger—That’s what you get with a brushless motor. They get more done on a single charge, dole out more power, and last longer than other power tools.
-
Auto-Intellicut Technology
Internal sensors detect when the grass gets thicker and automatically dials up the torque to power through. When passing over less-dense grass, Auto-Intellicut dials it down to conserve battery usage.
3-in-1 Functionality for Convenience
The premium mulching capabilities from the steel cutting deck not only put nutrients back into your lawn, but water too. You can also bag or side discharge depending on the needs of your lawn.
All the Benefits of Gas Without the Drawbacks
Gas mowers have remained popular because until now there hasn’t been a battery-powered alternative that matched their performance. Worx Nitro outdoor tools were designed specifically to meet that challenge.
How does the Auto-Intellicut function work?
Auto-Intellicut is smart technology inside the mower’s motor. It automatically senses when grass conditions are higher and thicker. Instead of bogging down during these conditions, the lawn mower cutting capabilities speed up to cut more efficiently.
How does the Auto-Intellicut function work?
When the grass conditions are less demanding, the lawn mower will utilize its lower setting to conserve battery run time.
How is Auto-Intellicut different than the variable speed control lever?
Auto-Intellicut refers to the motor changing “speed” to cut more efficiently. On the other hand, the variable-speed control lever adjusts the self-propel speed, or pace, at which the lawn mower moves.
Why doesn’t this mower come with a mulch plug?
The innovative, quick-change mode lever provides the user the ability to change modes without the use of a plug. There’s no more need to store, or lose, the mulch plug.

This electric lawn mower cordless product packs enough power to plow through even the densest grass with precision and ease. Backed by a brushless motor 2.0, it runs 10% longer and delivers 40% more power than standard brushless motors. This push lawn mower runs on Power Share batteries, compatible with 140+ Worx cordless tools, outdoor power and lifestyle products on the Power Share Platform. Self-propelled with variable speed control, this cordless lawn mower makes quick work of steep, hilly terrain. Simply guide it over the grass while you walk at a comfortable pace that you set. Rear-wheel drive allows you to adjust the speed up to 3.2 MPH. Switch modes at a moment’s notice using a single lever that adjusts easily. This 3-in-1 lawn mower can handle everything from bagging to mulching to side discharging . With sharp blades and a deep deck design, it pulverizes grass to save space while bagging. The two-bushel bag capacity makes ample room for clippings, and side discharge evenly disperses fresh grass while you work. A cut above the rest, this lawn mower uses Intellicut™ Technology to perform at peak efficiency. Built with internal sensors, it automatically dials up the cutting speed to power through thick grass, and dials it back in less-dense areas to maximize runtime. LED lighting comes in handy when the sun is going down and you still have more ground to cover. The foldable handle allows for stand-up storage to save space in your garage or shed. Thanks to the battery indicator light, you’ll always know how much runtime is remaining. Engineered for long-lasting performance, this cordless lawn mower withstands heavy-duty mowing tasks without damage.

But seriously, this is one impressive little devil. In about 20 minutes-I mowed down 3 separate sections of my property, and the grass was pretty high, since my gas mower croaked, despite my every effort to clean the carb, spark plug etc. I'm not new to the game, I've had several properties over the years, many gas mowers and was a little reluctant to go down the electric road. I will never go back, not after this. it's early on, but I barely dented the charge in these lithiums (5 Amp versions came with it)-one LED light down after cutting all these areas. The deck is deep underneath-so grass doesn't get bolloxed up inside at all, its a metal deck. Quieter than the vacuum cleaners in the house, amazing. Feels substantial, nice solid handgrip, and controls are simple, easy to see and it Worx! Interesting fact not in the manual (which is barely enough to understand fortunately the mower is pretty self-explanatory at least to me)...when I started out, the motor didn't sound very powerful-as if the batteries were not charged-but it cut pretty effortlessly so it was up to the task even at lower revs. But as soon as hit some higher, thicker grass-3-5 inches tall, the motor revved up and bingo, grass was gone. A good power-saving feature. I did need to set the deck to its lowest setting, which is better because I probably have been cutting my grass too short with the gas mowers and here in PA the higher blade setting kept me off all the rocks everywhere.
Just a few other comments-would I use this professionally for daily use-not sure this would take a repeated beating like some heavier duty machines gas or electric, but for my strictly home maintenance use, it sure beats the gas mower-is lighter, and the self-propelled feature works well so far. i was using a high-wheel self-propelled gas mower. I think I'd stick with that for heavier work but my yard is fairly level.
lastly-the cost of lithium cells-I don't know if Worx is getting their cells from China like many now are, but all these "clone" packs that are described as "for" Worx machines, or all the other brands-right here on Amazon...it has been my experience that Chinese manufacturers are slipping us a "mickey"-using either used cells, defective cells or even smaller cells in larger casings-to pad out the size, but will have less capacity-I have 14500 "3.7V AA size cells that put out less than 1000mAh rather than the 4000-5000mAh true 18650's should be. Not hard to put these in an 18650 sleeve. maybe these Chinese cells are OK, but with the experiences I've already had with many "replacement" laptop computer batteries, I am pretty convinced this is the business model. You are not going to get a pair of 5 Amp 20V batteries for 40-50 dollars, unless I am mistaken. Might be the right voltage, but I doubt if you will get the specified amperage out, and of course not much usable time out of the battery. It looks like such a good idea, but penny-wise and pound-foolish. and this is given the cheap pack doesn't downright explode or catch on fire. Its called "thermal runaway". Not what you want with lithium packs. Might as well stick a hand grenade in there.

The handles have three heights, easily adjustable, and over 7 adjustments for the height of the deck. It is a bit louder than expected, and the motor generally runs at one speed. You can adjust the walking pace, but not the mower blade speed, which self-adjusts based on the effort it takes to spin the blade. The motor speed increases as you hit thicker patches of grass.
If you need to stop and manually push, to cut around a tree, or other obstacle, the rear wheels need to rotate one full revolution without power in order to disengage the drive gear. This is not mentioned in the instruction manual.
The 2 - 5 watt hour batteries are supposed to last 2.5 hours, but don't quite make it to 2 hours. If you use 2 - 4 watt hour batteries only last 90 minutes instead of the expected 2 hours. In order to cut 1/4 acre lot it required 3 battery changes, however, the third set was only partially discharged after 4 hours.
The batteries also are too warm to start charging for over an hour, and take several hours to recharge using the charger that came with the mower. It is highly recommended to buy at least one extra pair of 5 watt hour batteries to have ready when the first pair are discharged.
Since I have 1/2 acre, I was unable to complete my mowing session in a single outing. I suspect I would need 12 batteries to get the job done. I ended up using a second plug-in mower which I was using previously. It is nice not to have to drag a long electric cord all over the property.
The unit is made to be stored sitting with the blade exposed, and instructions are quite clear about keeping the mower deck clean between uses, and to use a plastic scraper or wire brush to remove the grass debris that sticks to the underside of the deck and keep the mower blade sharp every 50 hours or so. The handle locks in place, and can easily be moved while folded up. It is very well designed and built to last.
My biggest concern is the battery life, and their idea that 50 hours of use is several years usage. The manual claims this model is ideal for 1/4 to 1/2 acre lots. The motor can handle the continuous running time to support the claim, however, the battery life is a bit overstated. They might have boosted the battery running time by adding a separate battery to handle the self-propelled motor. The frame is a bit heavy, and could have been made of plastic or composite to make it lighter and easier to propel
The manual also makes a point not to use water or any solvents for cleanup, so that water does not damage the motor or controls. Overall, it is a sturdy machine, not likely to require much maintenance other than replacement batteries and keeping the blade sharp. As Doug Marcaida would say - it will cut!
