Makita Likes Boobies – Pink Drill for Breast Cancer Awareness

Makita Likes Boobies with Pink Drill for Breast Cancer Awareness

Makita likes boobies. I can’t blame them, but the company recently let out a new pink drill for breast cancer awareness in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness. The drill, which is basically a pink version of their popular 12V Li-ion FD02W Drill/Driver, comes as you’d expect with a 1.3Ah Li-ion battery, 30 minute fast charger, drill bit set and a storage bag. What you may not realize is that Makita likes European boobies, particularly the UK kind – this drill is only available overseas. For every drill Makita sells, however, they will donate £5. The MSRP for the drill is £84.99 (about $133), which includes the VAT (value added tax).

According to Makita’s UK Marketing Manager, Kevin Brannigan:

“We have every confidence of strong sales of the limited edition drill, through our recognized network of stockists, helping us to reach our goal for the Charity. With almost 50,000 people diagnosed with breast cancer each year nearly all of us know someone whose life has been touched in this way.”

Great idea and a great move by Makita – we just wonder why they haven’t brought it to the US. Breast Cancer Awareness is an important charity for many, but here in the States, I bet there’d be a market just for the fact that the drill is pink as well. That’s just doubly good.

The new pink drill for breast cancer awareness from Makita goes on sale October 21st at dealers everywhere (overseas).
