Professional Tool Reviews for Pros

Manufacturer: Black and Decker

Our Black and Decker tool reviews test to one purpose. We want to know which tools can help Pros and serious DIYers save money. When you don’t need a premium tool, often a basic product will do the trick. Unfortunately, Black and Decker often falls short when the going gets tough. Still, our aim is to understand which of their tools can hold up when called upon to perform common tasks. Black and Decker also has a great habit of bringing technologies to market before they migrate to the company’s other brands. A great example is the Black and Decker Gyro screwdriver. These Black and Decker tools preceded the DeWalt 8V Max gyroscopic screwdriver. Black and Decker Tool Reviews for Serious DIYers So while you may not think Black and Decker is pro-quality…well, it’s not. At least, it’s not typically pro-quality. But some Black and Decker tools exceed expectations. Those are the tools we get excited about.

Black & Decker JS515 jigsaw

Black and Decker JS515 Jig Saw Review

The Black & Decker JS515 4.5 amp Jigsaw can be found for a reasonable “street” price and offers reliable, if simplistic performance. The saw is your basic model and certainly doesn’t feature many frills besides tool-less changing of both universal and t-shank blades and a handy magnetic storage area for up to 3 blades. If you can find it on sale you may have a deal, but paying retail isn’t something we’d recommend for this model.

Black & Decker Automatic Adjustable Wrench

Black & Decker Automatic Adjustable Wrench

For those who have everything there is always the automatic adjustable wrench. This product makes it easy to quickly adjust the jaws without having to remove the wrench from a tight space. Just activate the button and the AA battery-powered wrench will open as wide as 1-1/4 inches to accommodate even some of the largest bolts you’re likely to encounter around the house.

Black & Decker BDSL30 Accu-Mark Level

Black & Decker BDSL30 24-Inch 3-in-1 Gecko Grip Level Preview

The Black & Decker BDSL30 24-inch level is really three tools in one. The 24-inch level is great on its own, offering large easy-view bubbles for making sure your pictures and shelves are perfectly level. Not stopping there, Black & Decker added a 9-inch torpedo level that pulls out from the right side of the BDSL30 and can be used simultaneously alongside its 24-inch host. But wait, there’s more… The 9-inch torpedo level comes complete with an integrated stud finder to sweeten the deal. A stud finder integrated into a level? That’s absolutely the most absurd…ly perfect combination we can think of. In fact, why aren’t all torpedo levels made this way?

Black & Decker Gecko Grip Level

Black & Decker Gecko Grip Level with Accu Mark BDSL10

For anyone who has ever attempted to hang a larger shelf or picture without the help of an assistant, the new 36-inch Gecko Grip Level from Black & Decker might not change your life, but it could make it easier. It combines “Gecko Grip” pads that help keep the level in place with one hand, while the innovative Accu Mark targets let you pinpoint exactly where on the wall you need to drill to mount your picture or shelf system.
