Masterforce Boost Oscillating Multi-Tool Performance

The Masterforce Boost Oscillating Multi-Tool uses its variable speed brushless motor to deliver between 11,000 and 18,000 oscillations per minute.

It features a 1.8° angle of oscillation to both the left and the right, for a total of 3.6°. Between the power of the motor and the aggressive cutting angle, the Boost Oscillating Multi-Tool gets work done impressively fast for a tool at its price point. It’s not the fastest out there—you’ll have to bump your budget up significantly to get there. However, it’s on par with several of the Pro brands we tested.

Masterforce Boost Oscillating Multi-Tool Blade Change

Masterforce sticks with the common tool-free lever and bolt system for securing blades and other accessories. Simply pulling the lever to its release position is enough to switch out blades that have a rear cutout.

When you need to pull the bolt completely off for enclosed accessories, such as sanding pads, it’s a simple push and twist action to release it. It’s among the simplest and fastest changes for this locking style.

PTR Oscillating Tool Test Track Performance

Bringing its performance and blade changes together on the PTR Oscillating Tool Test Track, the Masterforce Boost Oscillating Multi-Tool finished in 1:52. That was tied for the 4th fastest time we’ve tested so far.

The Test Track consists of five sections and two blade changes. You can check out the full details in our head-to-head review or just roll with this summary:

  • Undercutting a door jamb
  • Cutting out drywall for an electrical box
  • Cutting five finish nails to remove drywall
  • Removing an 18-inch line of grout
  • Sanding a 6-inch section of 2×4

Masterforce Boost Oscillating Multi-Tool Vibration Control

Masterforce’s cordless oscillating tool features a reduced vibration system that they tell us reduces user fatigue by up to 75% when compared to the competition. With its isolated head design, we clearly felt less vibration than other tools without an upgraded vibration control system.

While it’s a huge improvement, it’s not quite up to the same level as Milwaukee and Fein. We also noticed that it has some movement as you press into the cut. It didn’t affect the overall accuracy of our cuts, but it was noticeable and something that might take you a few cuts to get used to.

Additional Features
