2016 World of Concrete Trade Show Coverage
Bosch Products at the 2016 World of Concrete
We next took a look at the Bosch booth at the 2016 World of Concrete and checked out the new products they were promising for later this year. Among them were drills and drivers, a new one-handed recip saw, measuring tools, and five all-new grinders.
The first products we were shown were the rotary hammers and dust shrouds that fit their SDS Max line of tools.
The first products we were shown were the rotary hammers and dust shrouds that fit their SDS Max line of tools. They demoed the Bosch RH1255VC hammer which supports drilling with 2” bits or up to 6” core drilling—all of which fits into the HDC250 dust collection system. In demoing the tool, it indeed caught nearly all of the dust and debris generated by the rotary hammer drill as it punched through the concrete.

These new Bosch premium segmented rim diamond blades come in 7-inch, 12-inch, and 14-inch diameters. Bosch uses a new diamond distribution to give them faster wet or dry cutting in concrete or brick.

This new Bosch one-handed reciprocating saw looks a little familiar if you ask us. Regardless, it felt good in the hand and cut very smoothly through the 2×4 test material they had on-hand.

Sometimes World of Concrete is just amazing to look at when you step back and realize all of the incredible amounts of heavy equipment all gathered in one location.
Take this view of the Central hall for example:

We also stopped by Kyocera and checked out their newest line of phones which are certified to 810G military specifications as well as IP68. They can be submersed to 1.6 meters…and stay there! These phones are really the wave of the future if you ask us. Why buy a phone that’s fragile and stick it in a waterproof protective when you can just get a phone that’s built to be ruggedly durable in the first place? Kyocera seems to really get this, and we’re looking forward to checking out some of their phones in the near future.

We visited the Hitachi booth and actually ran into a lot of the folks from Metabo—no surprise given the recent news that Hitachi acquired Metabo. The Hitachi DH 52MEY brushless demo hammer was there to demo, and it has four speeds for better control and flexibility of application and use.

There’s so much to see at World of Concrete, but we have to draw the finish line somewhere…While we took additional photos, check out our Facebook page for those, and we’ll continue to try and get additional shots and interesting tidbits up via social media as we’re able!
