Heat & Glo LUX Ultramodern Gas Fireplace

Heat & Glo LUX Ultramodern Gas Fireplace

Heat & Glo introduced their newest fireplace at IBS 2012, the LUX. The LUX is being presented as an “ultramodern” gas fireplace and this is about as accurate a description as we could come up with. Seeing it in person made us think that this is the type of thing that would cap off the ultimate bachelor pad or New York executive living in a penthouse (of course just try and get it installed in a high-rise!) The new LUX incorporates sculpted stainless steel and modern media in place of traditional logs and embers. It’s a striking fireplace that almost looks like a flat panel TV with a thick stainless bezel. If you mount it high off the floor, you might have to allow people to feel the heat to convince them it’s not an ultra high-definition television.

Heat & Glo LUX Ultramodern Gas Fireplace Features

The Heat & Glo LUX Ultramodern Gas Fireplace is designed to help builders offer unique, contemporary styles—without adding complex architecture to their plans. To facilitate this, the unit is available in both 36-inch and 42-inch models, supporting standard size framing dimensions and venting options. The design goal (which it looks like Heat & Glo met) was to make an advanced, contemporary fireplace that still met the routine installation requirements craved by builders who don’t want to re-engineer their homes around an optional component. The ease-of-installation conserves builders’ efforts, while still providing homeowners with multiple finishing options.

Speaking of finishing options, homeowners can outfit the Heat & Glo LUX Ultramodern Gas Fireplace more than 20 different ways – but, again, installation remains simple. The LUX nailed its design goals from what we can tell, catering well to current consumer trends in design and technology while avoiding the custom-built installation hassles
