Kohler Power Systems manufactures generators and automatic transfer switches and took some time at the 2012 IBS to announce the launch of new Kohler generators and equipment, automatic transfer switches and advanced system management equipment for the residential and light commercial markets. The new products include a slew of new products. The 48RCL – 48kW Generator is a whole house generator that provides complete protection for 200 Amp electrical service with a small footprint and extremely quiet sound levels. Kohler also showed off a new load control module that allows for a smaller generator to be installed in a home with larger power needs, and then cycles loads on and off in order of priority if needed.
Kohler Generators and Equipment Features
Next, we saw the new Programmable Interface Module (PIM) that lets you turn on needed items when the power goes out at home at a time when you’re away. The updated OnCue Generator Management System means that, with a touch of a button, users can now turn on critical items (storm shutters, security systems, etc.) while away. It provides real-time status updates on performance and operation from remote locations. Users can even receive status updates via text message or email.
The RXT Line of Automatic Transfer Switches are available in 100-, 200- or 400-amp models and feature all aluminum enclosures that are rated for outdoor use. Single-phase, three-phase, service-entrance rated and standard models are also available. The new switches also offer the option of an exterior display for remote system status.
The 14RESA (14kW) and 20RESA (20kW) generators have been updated with lower sound levels, an easy-to-read display and a redesigned controller compatible with Kohler’s new OnCue Generator Management System 3.0, Load Control Module and Programmable Interface Module (PIM). With outstanding power quality and a quick start, these generators still have the power users need while offering more control of their generator and power needs.
