Senco FramePRO 325XP 3-1/4″ Pneumatic Framing Nailer

Senco has announced the upcoming release of its new Senco FramePRO 325XP 3-1/4″ Pneumatic Frame Nailer. The Senco 325XP has already won a 2013 Pro Tool Innovation Award in the category of Pneumatics—noting the retractable rafter hook, tool free depth of drive, and dry fire lockout system.

Senco tells us that this addition to the FramePRO lineup is the most compact framing nailer in the industry. While I’m going to stop short of saying that there may be a new “compact” category for framing nailers coming, it is definitely nice to see the size getting smaller and to make getting in between wall studs and floor joists get a bit easier. That compact size boils down to a nailer that is just under 12 inches long, 4.5 inches wide, and weighs in at 7.9 pounds.

Senco FramePRO 325XP Features

Even with the compact design, this 3-1/4″ frame nailer delivers 780 inch-pounds of impact energy at 100 PSI. It can handle 34 degree offset fasteners that are of the round or clipped-head paper tape variety. The Senco FramePRO 325XP can hold up 83 fasteners in a range between 2″ and 3-1/4″ and drive them into any substrate, including engineered lumber.

The external housing and firing valve are manufactured using aluminum while the driver blade is made from high strength steel. The depth of drive adjustment is tool free using a thumbwheel . Switching between bump fire and single shot is achieved simply with a selector switch. As noted is its Pro Tool Innovation Award, this framing nailer is one of few that feature a dry fire lockout mechanism. Also noted in the PTIA is the 325XP’s retractable rafter hanger.
