The new Skil worm drive saw lineup is designed with specific roles in mind. With magnesium becoming more frequently used in the manufacturing process, it is possible to reduce the weight while maintaining the durability users expect from Skil.
Designed for use with concrete forming and masonry applications, the SHD77-02 is the heaviest, but most rugged of the group (“heavy” being relative, they’re all a huge improvement over previous generations of worm drives) at 14.1 pounds and sticking with a mainly aluminum construction. The SH77M-02 introduces magnesium to the mix, comes in at 12.5 pounds, and is dialed in for general contractors and builders. The Skil worm drive saws are headed up by the MAG77LT, the lightest of the group which comes in at 11.6 pounds. Its niche is found in framing and remodeling roles.
All three Skil worm drive saw models are 7-1/4″ diameter saws and include a multi-function wrench along with a carbide blade and Cut-Ready Depth of Cut System, but no case. Skil’s 1 year limited warranty applies to each of these tools.
