MiTek ProSeries Fasteners Offer New Solutions

MiTek ProSeries Fasteners
MiTek recently announced that they have released a new line of fasteners, including washer head, bugle head, and hex head structural wood screws. The MiTek ProSeries Fasteners feature a special cut-point for quick starts and reduced torque, as well as offering an option between yellow zinc or exterior finishes. They come available in a variety of different lengths, from 1-1/2″ to 10″.

From MiTek

“The MiTek ProSeries offers a one-stop source for high-strength fasteners used in a wide range of applications, from attaching structural connectors and fastening components, to building decks and other carpentry tasks.”

MiTek ProSeries Fastener Options

MiTek ProSeries FastenersIdeal for wood-to-wood and metal-to-wood connections, the MiTek Hex Head fasteners come in a variety of lengths from 1-1/2″ to 8″. For framing applications, these fasteners can substitute traditional lag screws where hex head fasteners would be the preferable option.

For exterior wood-to-wood finishes, the MiTek Washer Head fasteners also offer an alternative to lag screws. They are available in lengths from 2-7/8″ to 8″. They feature a large, flat washer head that, after installation, causes less interference than a higher-profile fastener. Also available, MiTek has come up with a yellow zinc-finished washer head fastener.  For multi-ply EWP and wood connections, these fasteners allow for one-sided connections on 2, 3, and 4-ply beams and truss girders. They come available in lengths from 2-7/8″ to 6-3/4″. Both of these options feature a T30 Torx drive.

Ideal for low-profile appearance, the general purpose MiTek Bugle Head fasteners offer an alternative to traditional lag screws, bolts, and pole barn nails. The head can be driven flush or countersunk. Like the Washer Head fasteners, they feature a T30 Torx drive to eliminate cam-out.

All of the options in the MiTek ProSeries line feature a sharp cut-point that reduces installation torque and wood splitting. None of the new MiTek fasteners require pre-drilling. All of these new fasteners feature a stamp on the head for identifying the fastener length. MiTek ProSeries Fasteners
