Senco RoofPro 445XP Roofing Nailer Preview

Senco RoofPro 445XP

Senco has announced the expansion of its RoofPro series of coil nailers. The Senco RoofPro 445Xp shares many of the same roofing features as others in the family. It still holds a full coil of 120 fasteners with the same range (3/4″ to 1-3/4″) that the other two models accept. The big deal with the latest RoofPro nailer is that they’ve done it with less air consumption and reduced weight.

Senco RoofPro 445XP Performance

When it comes to firing nails, the Senco RoofPro 445XP is likely going to exceed the expectations of most roofers. First of all, the air consumption is reduced by Senco’s power in, power out design that uses the firing valve to seal off the exhaust. This saves the RoofPro 445X about 5% on air consumption. Senco is able to do that without hurting performance. The nailer is capable of firing 12 fasteners per second at 324 inch-pounds of force (@ 100 PSI). Granted, I’m not a roofer by trade, but the idea of being able to empty the entire coil in just 10 seconds is a bit intimidating. If David C. Smith is looking to convert a nail gun for recreational/hunting purposes or even military applications, he’ll likely want to look here.

There’s also quite a bit of flexibility that goes along with the Senco RoofPro 445XP. It can handle both asphalt and fiberglass shingles. Out of the box, you can attach waterproof tar paper, metal drip edges, and insulation board. An attachment is available that will allow you to install vinyl and aluminum siding.

Build Quality

Jobsite durability is kept in mind with an aluminum housing. Using aluminum also keeps the nailer lightweight enough at 5.2 pounds for one-handed use. Senco used a bi-metal driver blade to improve the use time before a replacement is required. When maintenance is required, you’ll be able to access all of the wearable parts from the top of the tool. The Senco RoofPro 445XP is also endowed with wear plates on the housing and coil to reduce damage from abrasion that occurs in roofing.
