DeWalt recently announced the launch of the new 12V MAX Lithium Ion 1/4″ Combo Kit (DCK210S2) as part of the new 12 Volt MAX cordless platform. This is DeWalt’s first foray into the new world of compact 12V tools, and they differentiated themselves from the competition in a number of ways.
Both the DCF610S2 screwdriver and DCF813S2 Impact driver are compact and lightweight, built for less user fatigue and comfort in overhead applications. Designed using digital scanning and 3D technology, the contoured handle design of the DCK210S2 components offer increased comfort compared to products on the market today, largely due to the fact that the batteries aren’t located in the handle. Instead, they are loaded into a cartridge below the handle, similar to their 18V products. This means the handle can be thinner and more ergonomic and the weight can be better distributed apart from the handle’s angle (plus you can stand the tool up on its handle when not in use). The screwdriver and impact driver also feature a reversible belt clip for portability.
Three LED lights positioned around the hex chucks of the screwdriver and impact driver eliminate shadows and provide improved visibility in dark work areas. The new 1/4-inch hex chuck allows users to simply push the bit in to lock it in place with one hand. It also accepts a one-inch bit tip to fit into the tightest spaces. The screwdriver’s clutch is easy to access and 0-1,050 RPMs deliver the speed range that contractors demand. For the impact driver, its 950 in. lbs. of torque places it squarely at the top of class position.
Both tools are compact yet powerful enough to handle a variety of personal and professional jobs. The kit is ideal for remodelers, electricians, cabinet installers, woodworkers and many other pros whose jobs demand fastening and drilling applications.
In addition to the screwdriver and impact driver, the new Combo Kit (DCK210S2) includes two 12 Volt MAX Lithium Ion battery packs, a 40 minute charger, bit tip, belt hook and contractor bag. The new 12V drill/driver will be available in the fourth quarter at home centers and industrial distributors.
In addition to being sold as a kit, both the Impact Driver (DCF815S2) and Screwdriver (DCF610S2) will also be available as individual kits. The combo kit includes one screwdriver, one impact driver, two 12 Volt MAX Lithium Ion battery packs, two bit tips, two belt hooks, one 40 minute charger and a contractor bag.
The product will come with a three-year limited warranty, one year free service contract and 90-day money back guarantee. For more information about the warranty or available accessories, visit http://www.dewalt.com.
