Armstrong Industrial Hand Tools recently announced its new Armstrong MaxxLock Hammers and Sledges. These impact tools feature newly re-designed composite-wrapped fiberglass core handles that outperform steel rod handles while being significantly lighter. This will be particularly helpful to those who often work overhead or at height. The fiberglass tests beyond 5,000 overstrikes without bending. It also outperforms hickory handles while providing double protection from overstrike damage.
MaxxLock hammers and sledges have slip-resistant reverse-ribbed grips for added safety. A combination of mechanical locking components and epoxy secures MaxxLock heads to handles with over 5 tons of pull-off resistance. That’s a lot of force. All MaxxLock tools are tether-ready, with copper-reinforced lanyard attachment points, which is also helpful to those working on ladders or at height. We’re ready to take a swing.

The MaxxLock product line offers tools from 14-inch, 24 oz. ball-pein hammers to 32-inch, 12 lb. sledge hammers A optional 24-inch handle for the 8-pound sledge is available.
