DeWalt 20V Brushless 1/4 Sheet Sander Features
Like the other tools on their 20V Max platform, the DeWalt 1/4 Sheet Sander features a brushless motor. This means that the tool should be capable of delivering both power and enough runtime to complete smaller projects. And, indeed, this is DeWalt’s claim with the new tool.
The DeWalt DCW200B has a variable speed dial that lets you set the sander anywhere between 8,000-14,000 OPM (oscillations per minute). As far as efficiency goes, word is that this sander gets up to 40 minutes of runtime on a charge (using a 5.0Ah battery). That will shift depending upon whether you’re removing paint or just lightly sanding before applying a finish.
But, the design of the tool seems to be just as big of a deal as the power and runtime. DeWalt chose a low profile design that lets you get closer to the work surface. They also designed the paper clamp to allow for quick and easy installation of your sandpaper sheets.
