New for the world of woodworking and cabinetmaking is the DeWALT Laminate Trimmer, model DWE6000. This latest model offers solid performance with a 4.5 amp single speed motor capable of up to 31,000 rotations per minute (rpm). The DWE6000 weighs in at 3.3 pounds, making it a lighter weight option than previous models. Height changes are made using an attached depth ring whereas previous models would have made use of a thumb wheel.
Plan on being able to tackle jobs involving laminate, hardwood, veneer, plywood/MDF, and plastics. It is designed to handle small bevel cuts, heavy flush trimming, and straight forward cabinetmaking.
The DeWALT Laminate Trimmer features a contoured handle to conform to the user’s hand as part of the ergonomic thinking that went into the design. A clear base allows for better field of view when using the DWE6000 and an integrated LED enhances the ability to see cuts clearly.
