There are plenty of portable power options pushing to move away from gas generators. The Kohler enCube, Goal Zero Yeti, and EGO Nexus Power Station are all higher wattage solutions with varying levels of success. Even DeWalt’s Portable Power Station using four 20V Max or FlexVolt batteries is capable of some serious watts.

Klein is going for a less-bulky approach that targets users who don’t need a full 2000-watt generator replacement. It’s an effective amount of power for recharging electronics and a few power tool batteries over the course of a day. For the same $400, there’s a good chance you could just buy 3 or 4 more batteries for your tools, though.

What adds some value here is the versatility. Sure, you can get USB port adapters for your power tool batteries and that’s moderately helpful, but it doesn’t give you any 120V outlets. Having a couple of those opens up the ability to charge laptops and not just tablets and phones. You can run LED lights, small fans, radios, and more.

You can even run a 32″ TV for 8 hours or so. Slap a Fire Stick in the USB port and hang your hammock around the posts of your pergola for some quality outdoor entertainment.
