Ryobi 18V 6-port Supercharger Battery Charger

Ryobi 18V 6-port Supercharger Battery Charger

We spotted what looks to be a new Ryobi One+ 6-port battery charger over at Pro Construction Guide today. The new Ryobi 18V 6-port Supercharger battery charger’s claim to fame is the ability to charge each Ryobi One+ battery in as little as 30 minutes. It still cannot simultaneously charge more than one battery at a time, but it will work in “Round Robin” fashion as the existing Ryobi One+ Supercharger and ensure all of your jobsite batteries get charged at the end of the day.

Ryobi 18V 6-port Supercharger Features

The new 6-port battery charger uses what Ryobi calls its IntelliPort feature to deliver a full charge in less time. There are easy-to-read LED indicator lights that tell you when the battery is recharging—and when it’s done. There’s also a temperature light to let you know if a battery is still too hot or cold to charge. You should also be able to leave batteries on the charger until they’re needed without the risk of overcharging or draining. In fact, there’s an Energy Save Mode that conserves energy when not charging or maintaining batteries.

Additionally, Ryobi added a 2-amp USB charging port so that you can keep your phone topped off while your Ryobi One+ batteries charge. A 2A USB port is sufficient to fast-charge most smartphones and even Android tablets and iPads, and you can use the port while the Ryobi P135 Supercharger recharges the batteries.

I like how the charger makes better use of space. Instead of forcing all batteries to lie flat (and positioning the ports to collect dust and debris), Ryobi used a pyramid configuration to orient the stems of the batteries inward—maximizing space. The new 6-port charger can sit flat, stand vertically, or mount to a wall—and the batteries lock in place, so you can pick up the entire system like a briefcase and transport it to your jobsite. The Ryobi 18V 6-port Supercharger Battery Charger will retail for $79 and looks like a decent upgrade over their previous model.
