Back to the Basics

If the name isn’t indication enough, I’ll go ahead and tell you that this Southwire Voltage Detector and Tester tackles your voltage detection, voltage testing, and continuity testing. And the whole package is pretty easy to manage.

Rather than blowing your mind with LCD screens and 100 different settings, this tool features 9 LED lights that act as a meter to indicate the presence and amount of any voltage present.

This Southwire Voltage Detector and Tester measures AC voltage from 12-600V. Switching modes, it will also measure DC voltage from 9-400V with polarity indication. It has a non-contact voltage setting as well, and a flashlight at the business end so you can see what you’re doing. And because sometimes bad things happen to good tools, the test leads are replaceable.

Speaking of bad things happening, Southwire has tried to mitigate a lot of damage this tool will likely encounter. It’s been drop tested to 6.5′, so even Ben Parker can use it without too much fear of shattering it on the job (…although, we know Ben, and he’ll find a way).

If you’re working at height frequently or want to free up a hand while you test, this tool is compatible with Southwire’s hanging strap.

The Southwire Voltage Detector and Tester comes CAT IV 600V safety rated, and it carries a 5-year warranty. It can all be yours for the low, low price of $24.98 from your local Lowe’s.
