New Deckorators Decking Materials: Spring 2016
Last fall, Clint finally updated his deck using Deckorators Vista Composite Decking. I mean that sincerely as there were several issues that needed to be resolved. Going with Deckorators decking materials was really a no-brainer in the brutal central Florida climate and the results are outstanding. It’s no wonder that we’re excited for the new products that Deckorators is rolling out for 2016.
Deckorators Decking Materials 2016: Deckorators Vault Composite Decking
The biggest news comes in the form of new composite decking. The Deckorators Vault decking is made of polyolefins and minerals. It features a lightweight but durable composite core with the absence of organic content. It goes through Deckorators’ Eovations process, which creates a composite that performs, feels, and looks like real wood without any wood content. It is 35% lighter that WPC and weighs about the same as PVC. At the same time, it’s twice as strong as PVC decking based on stiffness-to-weight ratio.
“Deckorators Vault decking is a giant leap forward in wood-alternative decking, and we’re excited to make it available for 2016. It is unique in the true sense of the word: No decking uses this technology, nothing looks or works like it, and nothing on the market lasts as long. It will meet the rigorous needs of deck builders, and is certain to exceed the performance and aesthetic expectations of homeowners. This is the newest and best generation in a product category that was waiting for an extraordinary breakthrough. Vault is it.”
– Chris Camfferman, director of category marketing for Universal Forest Products, Inc. (UFPI)
Deckorators Vault Composite Decking measures 7/8” thick x 5-1/2” wide. It comes in Dusk and Mesquite color options, with slotted-edge and solid-edge profiles. The slotted-edge decking profile gives an undisturbed, fastener-free appearance to the surface of Deckorators board, while the Stowaway fastener system correctly spaces your decking during installation to speed up the process. On the other hand, the solid-edge board is perfect for use when board edges are visible, such as a picture-frame boards or stair treads. For more information about Vault decking, click here.

It offers the warm look of wood with low-maintenance durability. The new cap rail is available in 6-ft and 8-ft lengths. It’s an easy installation process to fasten to the top of 2″ x 4″ railing with the Deckorators cap and insert rail system, leaving fasteners unnoticed. This makes an ideal finishing touch for the Deckorators ALX Pro railing system.
