Skil 7-inch wet tile saw

The SKIL 7-inch wet tile saw (model 3550-02) features the new HydroLock System, designed to help contain the typical mess created by water and dust associated with traditional tile saws. The idea came to light from the simple fact that it would be more convenient to cut tile in the room where it’s actually going to be used, rather than outside. SKIL accomplishes this with an innovative upper and lower guard design near the blade.

Features and Build Quality

This handy little tool is quite a bit different from the Skil MAG77LT circular saw we reviewed from the brand earlier this year, but Skil is nothing if not diverse—another possible reason they are redefining their brand identity.

Other features of the SKIL 7-inch wet tile saw include a durable, rust-resistant aluminum tabletop, an adjustable rip fence with a miter gauge, and a built-in cord wrap. An adjustable side extension provides support for tile up to 18″ x 18″. While I wouldn’t risk cutting tile on the dining room table (unless, of course, you like sleeping on the couch), this tile saw should contain the mess enough to take care of your intermediate to advanced home tile cutting needs just about anywhere in the home without the risk of an angry spouse. SKIL sells this tool both online and at Lowe’s.
