Partnership Brings Klein Tools To Lowe’s Stores In The Second Half Of 2023
For those of you who prefer shopping at Lowe’s, there’s good news—Klein Tools are going to be available beginning in the second half of 2023. The initial lunch is set to include hand tools along with electrical test and measurement products. Following that, there’s a multi-year roadmap to bring new products into Lowe’s stores and lowes.com.
Here’s what representatives from each brand had to say:
“As the number one hand tool brand among electrical and HVAC professionals, Klein Tools strengthens our Pro brand and product lineup, and delivers immediate credibility across all trades. The addition of Klein will help drive excitement and traffic among Pro customers looking for market-tested innovation from a brand they trust.”
Bill Boltz, Lowe’s executive vice president of merchandising
“Klein Tools is committed to serving professionals across the trades. This partnership with Lowe’s enables us to serve Pros with our wide array of products, including innovative new products designed to make work on the job easier, safer and more efficient.”
Thomas Klein Jr., Klein Tools President, and COO
Lowe’s Partners With Klein Tools: Initial Thoughts
There are several interesting things in play here. First of all, the electrical tools split has primarily been to buy Klein at Home Depot and Southwire at Lowe’s. With Klein entering Lowe’s stores, does that mean Southwire is moving out? We’ll have to wait and see.
Klein Tools has a tremendous reputation among electricians, and those that shop at Lowe’s because of product selection or convenience will certainly be happy to get those products where they’re already shopping. However, Klein hand tools and basic test and measurement products are affordable enough for DIYers and homeowners as well. For those that have never used Klein tools before, it will be an easy introduction to the comfort and quality we expect from the brand.
There’s also an interesting note in the press release. “As a result, Lowe’s will offer the widest selection of Klein Tools products anywhere in the home improvement retail channel.” It certainly appears that this isn’t going to be just an end cap or small section, but that the selection of Klein tools you can buy at Lowe’s will be broader than Home Depot.
