Mileseey S50 Delivers Laser-Sharp Results Every Time
Nothing truly outpaces a laser distance measure when it comes to taking quick, accurate measurements. They come in a wide range of working distances and feature sets that can allow you to calculate area, volume, and even store measurements. But now, companies like Mileseey are raising the bar to fit a wider range of applications. Today, I’m taking a closer look at the Mileseey S50 laser distance measure to see what it has to offer and find out how it can help you on your next project.
Using The Mileseey S50 Laser Distance Measure

Accuracy
The Mileseey S50 laser distance measure features an effective range of 400 feet and is accurate to within +/- 1/16 of an inch at 33 feet. This allows you to take precise measurements with the press of a button and receive instant feedback on the 2.4-inch IPS color display.
That accuracy level is exactly what we look for on premium professional models. Even ones that are +/- 1/8-inch are fine for estimating jobs, so Mileseey really does have the accuracy dialed in well.
Green Laser
This laser is designed for both indoor and outdoor use, thanks to its upgraded class II green laser that offers higher visibility, even in direct sunlight. It’s also resistant to environmental factors, such as ambient humidity.
Speaking of humidity, the S50 isn’t afraid of a little rain. Carries an IP54 ingress rating against dust and water, so it’s pretty comfortable on jobsites.
Measuring Modes
One of the coolest aspects of the S50 is that it has 18 measuring modes; everything from simple single-point measurement to volume, area, and other complex layout operations. To access these modes, simply press the button in the upper left-hand corner of the keypad and then use the arrow buttons to cycle through the list. When you’ve landed on your desired mode, press the green arrow button to select it.
Keep in mind that the default mode after startup is single-point measure, but your previous measurements will still be saved in the memory bank. You can store up to 30 measurements in your local memory by pressing the History button, designated by the “H” button on the keypad.
You can also change the unit of measure from SAE to metric based on your region or preferences. Just go to the settings menu and you can cycle between feet, inches, 32nds, 16ths, meters, and centimeters. Just remember that even though you can measure in 32nds, it doesn’t change the +/- 1/16-inch accuracy level.
The Mileseey S50 also features four measuring reference points: front, back, tripod, and side-laser alignment. The first three are pretty typical and simply transfer the reference point from the front to the back of the tool based on your needs. But let’s dive a little deeper into the side-laser mode.
Side-Laser Mode
The side-laser alignment mode projects a red laser from the left side of the tool, making layout tasks easier than ever. The red laser presents as a line that extends across your work surface, but it does have some limitations concerning visibility. While the laser is fairly bright, it’s less vivid than its green counterpart, especially in well-lit environments.
Regardless, this is a unique feature we’ve never seen on any other laser distance measure, and it certainly sets the Mileseey S50 apart from the crowd.
App Connectivity
In the age of technology, more and more tool manufacturers are creating apps to help Pros track data and improve efficiency. Start by searching for the Smart Life app in your app store, and then connect to your S50 via Bluetooth. You can also scan this QR code which will take you directly to the Smart Life app.
This app allows you to store, organize, and review your measurements anytime, plus you get unlimited cloud storage along with the 30 measurements in the local memory.
Mileseey S50 Laser Distance Measure Price
The Mileseey S50 retails for $139 and comes with a storage case, two AA Ni-MH batteries, and a USB-C charging cable. Mileseey backs the S50 with a 2-year warranty.
One quick note about the batteries: Ni-MH is more prone to battery “memory” than lithium batteries. Be sure to use them close to dead before charging them back up to get the best runtime and service life from them.
The Bottom Line
The Milesey S50 is easily one of the more advanced compact laser distance measures I’ve ever used. It offers 18 functions that improve layout efficiency and make point-to-point measurements easier than ever. On top of that, the overall design is rugged and built to withstand the rigors of both indoor and outdoor applications.
While laser distance measures like the Mileseey S50 are extremely handy, most DIYers and weekend warriors could probably get away with a lesser model with fewer functions. This model really caters to the Pro market, who need a more advanced feature set beyond taking simple measurements.
