DeWalt Solid Rock Carbide SDS Plus Bits Preview

DeWalt is constantly trying to improve speed and efficiency of drilling. While improving tools is one way to get the job done faster, improving the bits is also a winning combo. Now, DeWalt is adding the Solid Rock Carbide SDS Plus Bits to its expansive line of SDS Plus Bits. The Solid Rock Carbide bits are designed for mechanical contractors, electricians, plumbers, forming and tilt wall contractors and other maintenance and repair professionals. For durability and long life, these bits feature 2x more carbide than standard SDS Plus drill bits, which should decrease the downtime caused by flute or tip breakage.

DeWalt is constantly trying to improve speed and efficiency of drilling. While improving tools is one way to get the job done faster, improving the bits is also a winning combo. To take another step in this direction, we’re seeing the introduction of the DeWalt Solid Rock Carbide SDS Plus Bits. The Solid Rock Carbide bits are designed for mechanical contractors, electricians, plumbers, forming and tilt wall contractors and other maintenance and repair professionals who want to spend more time drilling and less time swapping out bits with worn down or (more common) broken carbide tips. For durability and long life, these bits feature 2x more carbide than standard SDS Plus drill bits, which should decrease the downtime caused by flute or tip breakage.

DeWalt Solid Rock Carbide SDS Plus Bits Features

DeWalt Solid Rock Carbide SDS Plus Bits are manufactured using an innovative welding system that affixed a whole piece of carbide to the tip of the flute. The solid carbide tip significantly improves the durability of the bits, cutting down on bit tip breakage during concrete drilling. Carbide is certainly nothing new in the world of bits and blades, but manufacturers are always attempting new and innovative ways to leverage it for best use and value in their cutting and drilling surfaces. The DeWalt Solid Rock Carbide SDS Plus Bits also use a four flute design to more quickly remove debris from the cutting area and keep the bit productive and efficient during use.

“When using standard SDS Plus bits for heavy-duty anchoring applications, many users voiced concern about their short lifespan and durability issues, which lead to downtime on the jobsite. With two times more carbide than standard SDS Plus drill Bits, the Solid Rock Carbide bits are specifically designed to withstand difficult drilling applications, and provide long life and durability.”
