If At First You Don’t Succeed, Screw, Screw Again

If At First You Don't Succeed, Screw, Screw Again

So you buy a house—a new house, mind you—and you expect things to be done well. That’s not the case for our beloved Managing Editor, Kenny Koehler. One side of his French Doors began sticking, so he prepared to make a little adjustment and found…well, this:

Bad Hinge Work

Of course, this begs the question: did the builder install a used door, or was it just shoddy work from the word “go”? Either way, it’s no surprise the door started to lean after seeing that many holes close together and how many of the screw threads weren’t actually holding.

The more important question for our professional audience is… what would you do to fix it? Golf tees? Larger hinge screws?

Drop your suggestion in the comments below and help out folks that are sure to come across something like this in the future (probably in Kenny’s neighborhood).
