Greenworks Commercial Expands the Optimus Lineup With New 400V UTV
Greenworks and Greenworks Commercial both offer a suite of utility vehicles, reaching the recreational and Pro-landscaper markets. However, at Equip Expo 2026, Greenworks Commercial unveiled a new UTV that’s on another level of performance. While not all of the details are public yet, I’m going over what we know so far about the all-new Greenworks Commercial Optimus UTV ahead of its release to help you decide if it makes sense for your crew.
Greenworks Optimus UTV Overview

While Greenworks Commercial offers a suite of 82V utility vehicles, the new Optimus UTV takes things a step further. It’s equipped with a 400V 19 kWh internal battery, which delivers significantly higher power output than its 82V counterparts. Greenworks Commercial claims it offers up to 110 HP-equivalent peak power. For reference, Greenworks Commercial’s next highest-power model is the 82V U800 UTV at 31 peak HP. That’s a huge jump in performance for professional landscaping crews and large property owners.
What does this translate to in action? Greenworks claims it can tow up to 2500 pounds, with a cargo capacity of up to 1300 pounds. Again, this is a big step up from Greenworks Commercial’s strongest 82V model, which has a 1500-pound towing capacity and 1,000-pound payload capacity. If you want a real-world example, it has to capacity to tow Kenny’s 16-foot flats boat fully loaded with fuel and gear. It’s clear Greenworks is targeting true gas replacement for demanding commercial applications.
For speed, Greenworks Commercial claims you can travels at up to 40 MPH, which is an 11 MPH upgrade over the 82V U800. For range, the new UTV can travel up to 68 miles per charge in typical operating conditions, which is a bit lower than the 75-mile range Greenworks estimates for the U800. It’s possible that’s due to an increase in vehicle weight.
The new Optimus UTV features dual motors and all-wheel-drive, which help give it the power and maneuverability for a variety of terrains. You even get multiple terrain modes to adjust the driving conditions to your landscape. The independent suspension also allows for greater control and ride comfort.
The Optimus UTV has a ground clearance of 11 inches, which is also a bit lower than the 12.2 inches seen in Greenworks Commercial’s highest-performing 82V model, the U800. However, this isn’t a huge drawback unless your crew routinely traverses particularly rough terrain or large obstacles.
Greenworks Optimus UTV Price
For now, Greenworks Commercial has not yet announced pricing or availability for its new Optimus UTV. We will be sure to update this page as new information becomes available.
Final Thoughts
Greenworks Commercial has positioned itself as a true gas-equivalent brand for commercial landscaping companies and crews. While the brand has built much of its Optimus lineup around its 82V battery platform (including previous utility vehicle iterations), the new Greenworks Commercial Optimus UTV takes a page out of the OptimusZ zero-turn mowers’ book, with a much larger internal battery. We’ve already heard references to it as the Tesla of UTVs.
This leads to higher performance than we’ve seen thus far on this roster, matching models from existing brands like Polaris and John Deere, which cater to the pro-grade UTV market.
Since this is an early look into the new Greenworks Commercial Optimus UTV, it’s difficult to recommend without knowing the pricing or availability of this model. However, if the on-paper specs translate to real-world performance, I think it will be a truly impressive addition to the brand’s lineup. For commercial landscaping, groundskeeping, or maintenance crews who want a gas-free utility vehicle that really gets the job done, the Optimus UTV is the top model in Greenworks Commercial’s roster.
