Professional Tool Reviews for Pros

Bosch Active Response Technology in Brute Tough Tools

The newest Brute Tough 18V drill/driver and hammer drill/driver will include Bosch Active Response Technology. This safety feature cuts power to the circuit when it the accelerometer senses a bind-up situation during use, protecting the user from having the tool transfer all that torque to their wrist. The Bosch DDH181X-01L model is the drill/driver while the HDH181X-01L model is the hammer drill addition to the Brute Tough series. The Bosch HDH181X was part of our 18V Cordless Hammer Drill Round-up.

Both tools are part of Bosch’s Flexible Power System—a series of tools that can accept any of the Bosch Li-ion batteries. An advanced electronics design protects the tool and battery, extending the lifespan of both.

An auxiliary handle is included with the kit and both models feature built in LED lights to help in dark or confined spaces. Bosch’s exclusive durashield construction and all metal gearbox helps withstand the demands of the toughest jobsites. We’re expecting these to hit store shelves sometime in May, so be on the lookout at your favorite retailer for Bosch Active Response Technology tools, or keep an eye on our Facebook page for the official launch.
