Skil Octo Sander 7302 Preview

Skil Power Tools recently launched its new 7302 Octo Multi-Finishing Sander. The novel thing about this particular sander is the presence and inclusion of eight assorted attachments. The options make it uniquely suited to sand hard-to-reach areas and multi-task by hitting multiple surfaces at once, or more effectively sanding particular, or hard-to-reach places. Skil also added something it calls Pressure Control Technology to the 7302. The technology involves a series of pressure control lights that indicate when the user is pressing too hard, too light or just right. It’s a neat idea that is meant to help keep scars and marks off the wood and ensures optimal surface smoothness.

Skil Power Tools recently launched its new 7302 Octo Multi-Finishing Sander. The novel thing about this particular detail sander is the presence and inclusion of eight assorted attachments.

With a sander, the tool is desined to do the work. When you press too hard, or too lightly, you’re reducing the efficiency of the device.

The Octo gets its name from the eight detail sanding attachments included in the kit. It also has a three-position nose, which allows for maximum use of the sanding pad. Given its flexibility, the Octo seems to be an ideal tool for almost any sanding application. It can reach tough spots and contours and adapt to various curves and shapes. Also, with its tool-less attachment change, swapping out any of the eight attachments is a breeze.

The Eight “Octo” Attachments

  • Extended Delta
Provides extra reach to those areas that are difficult to get into and which require a shorter profile
  • 3-position Nose Finger
This attachment allows users to sand in tight and/or narrow spaces
  • Inside Corner
Ideal for trim overhands, or the interior of wood where sanding into the corner is desired – eliminates the need for two passes
  • Outside Corner
Perfect for edges on a board, table, or piece of plywood
  • Flex
This is Skil’s solution for curved and irregular surfaces that can benefit from a wrapping, non-linear sanding surface that provides “give”
  • Convex
Ther perfect answer to convex-shaped or curved surfaces
  • Slot
Ever needed to get in-between areas and do some sanding, the Slot accessory makes it possible to do so

SKIL also addressed the desire to keep work spaces clean and dust free. Micro-Filtration is an integral dust extraction system that collects and contains fine dust particles.  This will deliver a cleaner work surface and will minimize air-borne particles each time it’s used.  Plus with the Clear View Dust Canister, you can easily see when it’s time to empty out the canister.
