Ryobi’s new 18V High Performance Edge battery pack incorporates some new technology, including the use of tabless 21700 cells. This upgrade will deliver more power while running cooler, as well as more runtime and a longer lifespan. Since Ryobi’s 18V One+ system now boasts over 300 products, backward compatibility is also a plus since older tools will also be able to benefit from the performance boost these batteries will provide. At the time of writing, the Edge batteries are slated for a summer 2024 launch.
