The Bosch GSB12V-300N features a 3/8″ keyless chuck. A two-speed transmission lets you select between high power (0-460 rpm) and high speed (0-1,750 rpm). Between this, the variable speed trigger, and the 20+1 clutch, you can exert a good amount of control over drilling and driving tasks.

The tool weighs just 1.8 lbs without the battery. Bosch 12V battery packs don’t add much weight, of course. With a head length under 7-inches, the Bosch 12V Hammer Drill keeps up the Bosch trend of creating really small, compact cordless 12V tools.

Final Thoughts and Pricing

One of our earliest tool review memories surrounds Bosch 12V tools. They haven’t changed much over the years—mostly because they started off strong to begin with. The newest Bosch 12V drill/drivers seem to keep the same look—but add more speed and power. That’s great news for anyone in maintenance & repair (MRO), HVAC, etc., wanting a compact tool that can handle occasional Tapcon-drilling into brick or block. For this, you may have a hard time beating the ergonomics of this 12V tool.

You can pick up the Bosch GSB12V-300N as a bare tool for $129. It comes with a 4-tip bit holder, four impact-rated bits, and a belt clip. By registering this tool in Bosch’s ProVantage program, you get a three-year warranty.
