FLIR TG275 Thermal Camera Design

FLIR goes with their typical base-mounted handle design that’s just a smaller version of their large handheld cameras and will feel very familiar to standard IR thermometers.


The big deal is the thermal camera—it allows you to see hot and cold spots where an IR thermometer can only give you numbers for feedback. It shaves a ton of time off of your diagnostic process.

That’s no surprise, but thermal cameras are typically out of reach for most mechanics. FLIR brings the price down with their MSX technology – Multi-Spectrum Dynamic Imaging. It overlays a typical visual image over the thermal image to give you edge details. It’s something we’ve seen beforeand makes a huge difference in the clarity of the image.

The technology lets you use a lower resolution thermal camera that costs hundreds of dollars less than others.

FLIR TG275 Thermal Camera

You’ll see those images on the TG275’s 2.4-inch screen. You’ll be able to save up to 4 GB of those images on the camera and work with them in FLIR Tools if you want to take things further. When you’re ready to transfer them off the camera, a Bluetooth connection makes it easy to send them to your phone or tablet.

Thankfully, FLIR goes with a rechargeable battery so you don’t have to keep spares on hand.
