The Klein Impact Punchdown Tool with VDV Cushion Grip is specifically designed for cable installation and maintenance. In engineering this tool, Klein developed the Dura-Blade, a Metal Injection Molded (MIM) punch-down blade. This long-lasting blade is attached to the end of an intentionally designed long shaft to help reach narrow or crowded areas. The two-step impact process ensures precise wire placement and clean trim.
Senior Project Manager Sean O’Flaherty says that “Most current punchdown tools follow the same traditional, square-based pyramid style that is difficult to maneuver and requires additional accessories to reach tight spaces. Klein Tools’ new punchdown tool naturally overcomes these [hurdles] with its comfortable screwdriver-shape design that includes a long, narrow shaft that eliminates these limitations and provides easy, precise access to panels and blocks.”
