Our friends over at HomeFixated.com had a post that caught our eye this morning. It’s the ToolGuard Wireless Truck Bed Tool Box Alarm, a product that protects tools in your work box or truck box from being stolen. It’s a portable security system that works by incorporating tilt sensors like that used in the iPhone and a built-in computer that allows it to differentiate between a actual tilt and vibration to prevent false alarms.
The TG4000 Solo installs under your Toolbox or Truck lid in minutes and has an ear-piercing Piezo (tweeter) siren that triggers when the lid is opened. The unit is armed and disarmed by a simple remote key fob. The alarm has up to 2 years of battery life, so it’s a real no-brainer for those who want a bit of extra security for their tools. ToolGuard even has a multiple-box solution (TG5000) and an advanced model (TG6000) that will integrate with most vehicle alarm systems.
