Tools in Action Best of the Best Awards

tools in action best of the best awards

Every year Tools in Action gives out awards for tools it’s tested and found to be among the best performing. This year’s Tools in Action Best of the Best Awards went out to the Milwaukee M12 and M18 line, the DeWalt 40V Max outdoor tools, Ryobi’s affordable new tools, and Klein for best hand tools. They also gave kudos to The Home Depot (best retailer), and the Troy-Bilt Flex as the most innovative outdoor power equipment. The awards are judged by the editors of Tools In Action and professional contractors that they work with throughout the year. The team at TIA takes into account value, performance, quality, ergonomics, and innovation when deciding the winners.

Best of the Best Awards

In terms of particular tools, there is a lot to note, but they definitely liked the Milwaukee 2703 drill and 2704 hammer drill as well as their 2753 FUEL impact driver. The DeWalt DCN692 20V Max framing nailer got a nod as did the new DeWalt DCN660 brushless finish nailer.

We also couldn’t argue with many of the other selections, among them the Makita XSH03M brushless circular saw, the Bosch JS120BN jig saw, and the DeWalt DWE7491RS jobsite table saw. Of course, possibly the best award has to be the one for Best T-shirt…which of course goes to the Tools in Action T-Shirt available online through their website—a bit self-promoting, but why not.

Really, though, you’ve got to visit the awards page yourself to see all the winners—there are simply too many great tools to list here. I don’t think you’ll run into any surprises—most of the tools are solid performers that we’ve come to appreciate in our own evaluations this year and in years past (Some of the award winners are unique enough that they are older tools that have yet to be beaten or replaced).
