As we’ve now seen Milwaukee RedLithium batteries and Metabo 4.0Ah batteries (and overseas DeWalt) the newly updated higher power density Lithium-ion cell-based batteries seem to be in play. Now, Ryobi has officially joined the fray with its new line of Lithium+ batteries. These are Ryobi 18V ONE+ System batteries that represent the company’s next-generation lithium-ion solutions. Lithium+ batteries improve both the performance and run-time of Ryobi 18V ONE+ power tools by increasing torque up to 15% (35% for the 4.0Ah packs).
We’re thinking the new Ryobi 18V One Plus Hybrid Fan and the Ryobi LED light will get huge benefits from this extra runtime. The new Ryobi 1.5Ah and 4.0Ah 18V Lithium+ Batteries are designed to have extreme weather performance so both hot and cold temperatures have less of an effect on the battery or tool’s performance. Also, an onboard fuel gauge lets you see how much fuel you have before you leave the trailer and begin your work.
Ryobi 1.5Ah and 4.0Ah 18V Lithium+ Batteries Features
- Compact Lithium+ (P107): 1.5Ah
- High Capacity Lithium+ (P108): 4.0Ah
- Improves performance of Ryobi 18V ONE+ tools up to 15%
- Extreme weather performance
- On-board fuel gauge
- Charge only with 18V ONE+ Dual-Chemistry chargers
- 3 year warranty
Pricing
The Compact Ryobi Lithium+ 1.5Ah battery (P107) has an MSRP of $54 and the Ryobi High Capacity Lithium+ 4.0Ah battery (P108) has an MSRP of $99. As you’d expect, the Ryobi 1.5Ah and 4.0Ah 18V Lithium+ Batteries continue to be compatible with every Ryobi 18V tool ever made.
Can I use my old charger with the new P 108 battery?
I have only Ryodi drills +impacts + saws in 18v li-on . My only problem is that they need to be warmed up in the winter for them to charge. These tools will take one h of a beating and keep on working. My first sawzall is so worn out that you can’t cut straight but it still works every day in demo work. I own Northeast Remodeling in northern Maine with weather diff.from 90*+ -20*. I have put these tools thru some of the most exterm condition and they have never let me down. The old non li-on battery’s had… Read more »
battery was no buen0ooo!!. but it got
work in till da battery dies.
While I instantly noticed the difference in weight and power when I purchased and used the two of the 1.5 ah lithium ion batteries and the six port charger I purchased I am extremely disappointed in the longevity of , or life of the batteries and the charger has stopped fully functioning only after a year of usage. One of the batteries works but only at around 2/3’s the original power. The charger doesn’t charge the larger 4.0 lithium batteries and the top left port doesn’t work at all. Im very disappointed and have not recommended these tools to other… Read more »
