Ryobi High Volume Inflator Expands USB Lithium Platform’s Inflating Capabilities
If you’re looking for your next inflator, Ryobi has you covered with plenty of options. While most of the brand’s inflators are on the 18V One+ platform, the more compact USB Lithium system has its own collection of offerings. Today, I’ll walk you through the newest addition to the lineup, the Ryobi USB Lithium High Volume Inflator, so you can see what types of jobs it’s best for.
Ryobi High-Volume Inflator: Overview

For low-pressure inflating applications, Ryobi’s USB Lithium platform has thus far lacked the appropriate tool. That is, until the release of the FVIF61K high-volume inflator. This tool is ideal for inflating and deflating items like air mattresses, pool toys, beach balls, and more.
It has two speed modes, achieving up to 14 SCFM of airflow on the highest setting. The controls are very simple, comprised of a single power button that toggles between each mode and powers the inflator on/off.
Unlike Ryobi’s first 4V inflator, the High-Volume Inflator also acts as a low-powered blower for small clearing jobs. I can imagine it coming in handy for things like clearing dry dirt from a camping tent or a work bench. While it won’t compete with the top handheld blowers, it’s a cool feature to quickly clear small dry messes.
This tool holds an IPX4 ingress rating, making it resistant to water splashes, so you don’t have to worry about it getting slightly wet at the pool or beach. However, that rating doesn’t protect against dust, so use extra caution in sandy environments.
This inflator comes with a sweeper nozzle and a narrow for concentrated blowing, and a pinch valve nozzle for inflating compatible items. Both nozzles can be stored onboard in the appropriate slots.
Finally, an LED indicator above the power button lets you know when your 4V USB Lithium battery is low on juice. The kit includes a USB-C charging cable to recharge the battery.
How Does it Compare?
While the USB Lithium system has one other inflator at the time of writing, the two tools serve different applications. To rule out any confusion over which model is best, let’s take a look at them side-by-side.

Ryobi High-Volume Inflator Price
This inflator retails for $39.97 as a kit with one 2.0Ah USB Lithium battery and a USB-C charging cable. If you need more runtime, Ryobi also offers kit configurations with two or three batteries, but it may be a better value to buy extra USB Lithium batteries separately.
Like all Ryobi tools, you can find it exclusively at The Home Depot.
Should You Buy It?
At the time of writing, the FVIF61K is Ryobi’s second-iteration inflator on the USB Lithium platform. However, the two models are far from the same thing. This High-Volume Inflator is suited for applications like blowing up air mattresses, pool toys, and similar inflatables, whereas the FVIF51K High-Pressure model can pump up bike tires and sports equipment.
Both tools are reasonably priced, at under $40. If you bought the High-Pressure Inflator when it was released in 2024, the High-Volume FVIF61K isn’t a rerun—it fills a gap in your inflating abilities. If you do a lot of camping or swimming and need something that’ll make quick work of those types of inflatables, this is the Ryobi tool for you.
