This is a great little air gun, and I could see it being the perfect go-too tool for Perfect for DIY, automotive, and industrial cleaning applications.

Overall Score 7.6 (out of 10)

Guardair has a new style of air gun that uses a palm switch for activation. It looked really ergonomic, so we asked for a sample to check out. Turns out it works as easy as it looks. The grip has a very nice contour to it and you activate the nozzle using the palm of your hand instead of just your thumb. The Guardair LZR6007KIT gun works really well, and the kit provides a lot of variation in how you might want to use the tool for cleaning out your shop or clearing the dirt and grime off a saw or other cutting device after it gets some use. I make it a habit to blow off my miter saws and table saws along with any other corded device I use that sucks in a lot of air. The Guardair LZR6007KIT is the preferred way to pick up this air gun and includes the LZR600 palm switch safety air gun, a couple brass nozzles, a 3″ and 6″ extension a rubber tip nozzle and a 1/4″ NPT connector.

Using the air gun to dust off a DeWalt DWS780 12″ miter saw with a Bosch CET4-20W compressor, it’s obvious that it’s designed for comfort over longer periods of use. It didn’t take a long time, however, to simply prefer the design. I had been using the standard blower nozzle as long as I can remember and, aside from them going bad periodically, the grip and trigger on the Guardair LZR600 definitely makes it a more comfortable job—whether you need it for 5 minutes or 2 hours. I didn’t use it for more than 10-15 minutes at a time, but I think I got a good enough feel fro it to know that it would do well for even longer periods of use.

The front of the air gun hooks over your first finger—a feature I found odd since you don’t really need protection from any impacts up there. Then I realized I could hang the air gun up using this hook and the design started to make a lot more sense. For around $28 this is a more expensive type of air tool, but if you’re going to use it quite a bit, then it makes a lot of sense to save your hands and make for an easier job overall.
