When you are on the job (or just working around the house) do you ever find yourself having to run back to your truck or toolbox for that one bit you didn’t think you’d need? Sure, you’d like to carry your bits around with you but where do you put them? Even if you had a case small enough, it’d probably want to fall out of your tool belt. The DeWalt Tough Case Container presents a nice solution for Pros looking to organize.
Enter DeWalt. After doing extensive testing in the field and (gasp!) actually talking with professionals, they’ve come up with what they think is the perfect solution – actually two solutions. The Magnetic ToughCase Container is basically a portable bit case tailored for your particular needs. The case is constructed out of the same high impact resistant material that is used for Dewalt’s XRPTM cordless drill housings. This means the case is extremely durable and impact resistant – exactly what you want out of an on-the-job case. The case is small enough to fit in user’s pockets or pouches so it is transportable but it is still large enough to fit 6″ drill bits and 1 3/8″ step bits and hole saws.

But when you are hard at work, you don’t always want to have to reach into a pouch or a pocket. What you want it to have your bits on hand. For that DeWalt has included two powerful magnets on the case lid so that you can stick the Magnetic ToughCase Container to any ferrous material. It also includes rubber bumpers so that it won’t slide. You can imagine sticking the ToughCase to the side of a electrical box just to have it slide off. The rubber bumpers eliminate this possibility. In addition, the Magnetic ToughCases have integrated hooks on the back for hanging from non-ferrous materials. You can really tell that Dewalt consulted with professionals on this product – only someone in the field would have included all the different convenience factors we find here.
Keeping with the common DeWalt color scheme, the Magnetic ToughCase Containers come in either yellow or black. Model DWMTC15 is yellow and contains 15 pieces (see below) that are geared toward driving and fastening duties. You’ll find lots of different bit heads for driving a variety of screw types. The 20 piece DWMTCIR20 is black and is geared toward drilling and impact duties. This set includes a lot of different fastener bits but also a couple of drill bits – all of which are designed to take the abuse that only an impact drill can deliver.
We like the idea behind the DeWalt Tough Case Containers. In a small package, you get a lot what you might need on a job. The magnetic lid makes keeping the container out of the way a cinch especially when you will be working in a particular area for a time and don’t want to carry it around with you. Plus, you just know those magnets are going to be used to stick the container to the side or lid of your tool box so it doesn’t even take up extra space. The color coded cases means you won’t have to worry about grabbing the wrong one when rushing around the jobsite.
