DeWalt Composite Toe Safety Shoes

DeWalt Safety Work Shoes

DeWalt has an entire line of licensed footwear. DeWalt Composite Toe Safety Shoes provide lightweight protection to the toe area while providing a flexible, more versatile work shoe. From the outside, these safety shoes look just like any other shoe, until you put them on. This is a comfortable, low-cut, non-metal composite toe boot, and is especially good for those employed as electricians, welders, and mechanics.

DeWalt Composite Toe Safety Shoes DF065 Features

The DeWalt Composite Toe Safety Shoes feature a rubber toe guard to provide extra durability as well as black top-grain leather all around for added comfort. An EVA midsole works as a shock-absorber and the slip-resistant sole reduces the risk of slips and falls. The shoe is even electric shock resistant, protecting the wearer against open circuits (conforms to ASTM F2413-05). We’re not going to run out and test that one anytime soon. The shoe meets ASTM Class 75, the highest available strength for impact and compression.

The ASTM F2413-05 specification covers the minimum design, performance, testing, and classification requirements, and prescribes the fit, function, and performance criteria for footwear designed to be worn to provide protection against a variety of workplace hazards that can potentially result in injury.

ASTM F2413-05 Specification Details

Footwear conforming to this specification shall meet the performance requirements for:

  • impact resistance for the toe area of footwear
  • compression resistance for the toe area of footwear
  • metatarsal protection that reduces the chance of injury to the metatarsal bones at the top of the foot
  • conductive properties which reduce hazards that may result from static electricity buildup, and reduce the possibility of ignition of explosives and volatile chemicals
  • electric shock resistance
  • static dissipative (SD) properties to reduce hazards due to excessively low footwear resistance that may exist where SD footwear is required
  • puncture resistance of footwear bottoms
  • chain saw cut resistance, and
  • dielectric insulation

This appears to be a really nice-looking low-height boot from DeWalt, and something that we think would make for a great solution for those looking to interject a bit more safety into their workday without going for a full-out boot. The Composite Safety Toe Workboot DF065 provides adequate protection without really looking like a traditional work shoe. We’d highly recommend you give it a closer look.
