Milwaukee 5316-21 1-9/16 Spline Rotary Hammer Preview
Continuing their expansion of their rotary hammer line, Milwaukee has introduced a new 1-9/16″ Spline Rotary Hammer. This new rotary hammer delivers the durability users have come to expect from Milwaukee, with a 10.5-amp motor and 5.5 ft-lbs of impact energy. We’ve picked up and used several of Milwaukee’s rotary hammers and they are a force to be reckoned with. The new hammer is an improvement in that it offers new features to increase efficiency and lower the amount of work (effort) you have to expend in order to achieve the results you need.
Milwaukee 5316-21 Spline Rotary Hammer Features
The new Milwaukee 5316-21 1-9/16″ Spline Rotary Hammer feature 2-modes of operation: rotary hammer and hammer only, so you can both drill and chip as needed, depending upon your application. The 5316-21 also has a mechanical clutch to help protect the tool when the bit binds. This rotary hammer also features Constant Power Technology (CPT) to deliver consistent performance during tough applications for Electricians, Plumbers, HVAC Technicians, Mechanical and General Contractors.
The Milwaukee 5316-21 has a maximum rotation of 450RPM and weigh 15 pounds, which is not bad for a 10.5-amp heavy-duty rotary hammer. For maximum drilling power, it operates at up to 3000 BPM (beats per minute) and includes the rotary hammer, removable side handle and plastic carrying case. You can also get this hammer in the 5317-21 SDS Max model, so no matter what bits you currently use, you’ll be all set.
What we also appreciated about this new tool, beyond the features and specs, was Milwaukee’s inclusion of their “Heavy-Duty” 5-year tool/1-year service warranty. If you’re going to make significant claims about the durability and toughness of your tools, it helps to have a warranty that backs this up.
