This week Porter-Cable announced a couple of new products due out in October of this year (next month). The new Porter-Cable PC60TPAG 7-amp 4-1/2″ Small Angle Grinder and Cut-off Tool. The new Angle Grinder really seems to benefit from some of the advances the company has made with its Porter-Cable cordless 18V tools. In particular, the tool is lighter and more agile than the Porter-Cable PC750AG angle grinder and the Porter-Cable PC60TCTAG angle grinder, and it delivers excellent performance while still maintaining an ergonomic form factor.
Porter-Cable designed its new 4-1/2″ Small Angle Grinder to be both an angle grinder and cut-off tool that would work perfectly for welders, fabricators, masons and any professional who frequently grinds or cuts & polishes metal. It’s even suitable for tuckpointing with the optional dust guard. The Porter-Cable PC60TPAG grinder features a hefty 7-amp motor that spins the disc at up to 11,000 RPMs. The tool includes a cast metal gear housing that provides ample protection from debris and also serves to dissipate heat.
The Porter-Cable PC60TPAG is also extremely lightweight, coming in at just over 4 pounds (4.1 to be exact) and tweaks the existing PC60TAG Grinder by adding a paddle switch. The PC60TPAG angle grinder includes a handle that can work in any of three positions and the rubberized overmold gives you a secure grip and provides comfort during use.
Since the tool can be used for both grinding AND cut-off applications, Porter-Cable decided to provide both a grinding guard and a cutting guard with the Porter-Cable PC60TPAG grinder kit. In this way, users can gran this tool for both applications, giving it wider appeal and making it safer to use. Both guards apply without the need for tools and you can adjust them quickly and easily to control the path of spark emissions. Additional accessories include a side handle, grinding wheel, cut-off wheel, and a wrench.
The Porter-Cable PC60TPAG is available now from Lowe’s, Amazon.com and approved dealers and it has an MSRP of just $59.97.
