Milwaukee Includes Quality of Life Upgrades in the Newest M12 Power Supply
Milwaukee has had its hand in the portable power market for a number of years. If you’re on the M18 platform, you have the M18 Top-Off 175W Power Supply, the 4-battery M18 Carry-On Power Supply, and more. Similarly, the M12 system has its own roster of power supplies, and it recently announced a new addition to the lineup. Take a closer look at the Milwaukee M12 Top-Off Power Supply to see how it can help you take your power on the go.
Milwaukee M12 Top-Off Power Supply: Overview

- Model: Milwaukee 48-59-1211
- 2-in-1 charging capabilities
- M12 battery compatibility
- Charging power: 15W
- Bi-directional USB-C port
- Compatible with M12 heated gear
The Milwaukee 48-59-1211 power supply is compatible with all M12 batteries. It uses a USB-C cord to let you charge and power small devices like phones, tablets, and laptops.
This isn’t Milwaukee’s first go-around with M12 power supplies. However, it looks like some of their older models are no longer being sold at any retailers. The 48-59-1211 offers some quality-of-life upgrades that were missing in those models, so it looks like it’s aiming to deliver a better experience as charging technology progresses.
For instance, it nixes the USB-A port in favor of a bi-directional USB-C port, which Milwaukee says delivers up to 50% faster charging. When you equip a 2.0Ah M12 battery, you can recharge your phone to around 70% with a fully-charged pack. If you want longer runtimes, you can get a full device charge with a 3.0Ah battery, or up to two charging cycles using a 6.0Ah.
Plus, not only can it power your devices, but it can also charge M12 batteries directly via the USB-C port when you hook it up to a wall outlet. Milwaukee estimates battery charging times of around 100 minutes for a 2.0Ah battery to 270 minutes for a 6.0Ah battery.
Additionally, this M12 power supply features a few carry-over details from previous M12 models that I really appreciate. For example, it’s compatible with all Milwaukee M12 heated gear, which is a feature we saw in the 49-24-2310 power supply. The 48-59-1211 is also compact enough to carry around in the pocket of your heated jacket, especially when equipped with a smaller-capacity M12 battery, like a 2.0Ah or 3.0Ah.
Milwaukee M12 Top-Off Power Supply Price
This power supply sells for $69, and you can find it at your favorite Milwaukee retailer. However, it doesn’t include a battery, so be sure to pick one up if you’re not already on the M12 system. Milwaukee backs your purchase with a 5-year warranty.
Should You Buy It?
Most portable power supplies serve the same function: they give you the ability to charge or power your devices on the go. The real benefit of this Top-Off model is for users on Milwaukee’s M12 battery system. It uses your existing M12 batteries, which technically allows for unlimited runtime, provided you have enough fully charged M12 packs at your disposal. It also charges the batteries themselves, so if you’re short an M12 charger, you can top off your battery in as little as 100 minutes.
If you already have M12 tools in your daily roster, the Milwaukee Top-Off Power Supply is a good bet for on-the-go power.
