Greenworks 24V Brushless Drill Driver Works on the Same Batteries as Lawn Care Equipment
You may be familiar with Greenworks as a lawn care manufacturer, but they also have an emerging line of power tools to complement their 24V and 48V (2 x 24V) lawn care products. We decided to take a closer look at the Greenworks 24V brushless drill driver to see what it has to offer.

Greenworks 24V Brushless Drill Driver Performance
Running on a 24V system has advantages. Technically 24V max, the tool runs at 21.6V nominally thanks to a 6-cell battery system. Most cordless tools run on a 5-cell system that makes them 20V max and 18V nominal. So there is more energy stored in the batteries compared to 18V/20V max tools because there’s an extra cell in there to draw from.
Greenworks takes that 24V max battery and pairs it with a brushless motor and 2-speed gearbox to hit speeds up to 380 RPM at low and 1450 RPM at high. For torque, you get up to 310 in-lbs to work with.
That level of performance can do a lot of different jobs. We were even able to use 2 9/16-inch self-feed bits in studs without bogging the motor down.
For those lighter jobs, 18 clutch settings help you dial in the torque you need to properly set fasteners without overdriving them.

Ergonomics
Greenworks’ motor selection helps keep the drill pretty narrow and it comes across as compact and lightweight in your hand. Bare, the tool weighs just 2.3 pounds and only jumps to 3.19 pounds with a 2.0Ah battery attached.
The drill feels nice in our hands with a contoured handle and rubber overmold. It’s one of the more comfortable designs we’ve used.
USB Power Supply
Some of Greenworks’ batteries have a built-in USB charging port so you can use them as a power supply for your phone or other devices.
