In partnership with Hilti
Back in 2024, we got our hands on the Hilti SC 30WR-22 cordless circular saw for the first time. Little did we know that behind the scenes, the design team would be looking for opportunities to make it even better, and now, they’ve unveiled a redesign.
Even though there are some noticeable differences, the model number remains the same. I jumped on a call with members of Hilti’s product team to discover what they’ve changed and how it affects performance.
Improved Performance

There are some obvious physical changes from the previous version of the SC 30WR-22 to this one, and we’ll dive into those in a minute. First, let’s consider the performance you should expect.
As part of the Nuron platform, this saw uses Hilti’s latest brushless motor technology. Compared to brushed motors, you can expect significantly better performance, runtime, and service life.
The redesigned SC 30WR-22 boasts 22% faster cutting speed and 18% longer runtime than before.
Those aren’t just theoretical numbers based on specs. This saw has the same 4700 RPM no-load speed as the previous edition. We’re talking real-world gains that can help you get more work done per charge.
The higher performance affects battery selection as well. It’s tempting to use the B 22-260 battery to get maximum runtime. However, with the saw’s faster cutting and longer runtime, the B 22-195 is the battery of choice, letting you take advantage of boosted performance while reducing the working weight.
Pair it with Hilti’s C 8-22 Ultimate Charger for a single-bay option or the C 8D/DC-22 Dual-Bay Flash Charger to maintain multiple batteries in your workflow.
Cutting Deeper

One of the first things I noticed when I compared the two versions side-by-side was the battery orientation. On the previous version, you pushed the battery in from the back. Now, you slide it down from the top.
By making that shift, the SC 30WR-22 can cut to a deeper 2.76 inches. If you’re working with material such as 11/4 hardwood or 2.75-inch rough-sawn lumber, the saw can cut through them in a single pass.
It also gives the saw a more compact profile, making it a little easier to work with when space is a concern.
Efficient Dust Collection

Another noteworthy change is to the dust port. The previous version used a basic friction fit like most cordless circular saws. Now, it uses a fitting that you rotate to click into place.
The upgrade did more than just hold the hose more securely, though. When paired with a vacuum, it’s able to capture up to 80% more dust than before, giving it the most efficient dust collection in Hilti’s circular saw portfolio. Whether you’re concerned about keeping your workspace clean or reducing how much dust you breathe in, it’s a huge improvement.
Accessories
When you upgrade to the latest version of the SC 30WR-22 circular saw, be sure to grab all the accessories you need. Hilti offers a full range of purpose-built blades, from 24T blades for framing to 40T blades for fine finish.
The saw comes with a parallel guide to help you make accurate rip cuts. However, if your ambitions involve precision at the next level, Hilti has you covered. Add the rail adapter and guide rail kit to make cuts with track saw-level precision.
Hilti also has a variety of corded and cordless vacuums and dust extractors available to meet your jobsite’s needs.
Ready to Upgrade?

With this upgrade, the improvements in design and performance are significant. Whether you’re looking for more confidence when you’re cutting hardwoods, getting that extra bit of depth to cut in one pass, better dust control, or a more compact form factor, you’ll find it in the Hilti SC 30WR-22.
You can order the saw directly from Hilti online. Better still, reach out to your local Hilti sales rep who can help you select the best batteries, charger, and accessories to ensure the saw is configured specifically for your needs.
