We’re teaming up with IDEAL Electrical to share more about their 2025 Pro Tool Innovation Award-winning SureTrace Circuit Tracer Pro. If part of your job as an electrician involves circuit tracing, this kit provides accurate breaker, conductor, and fault finding for electrical systems while improving your workflow. I’ll show you what stands out about this model and why our voting team selected it as the Winner in the Circuit Tracer category.
IDEAL Electrical SureTrace Circuit Tracer Pro’s Award-Winning Innovations

IDEAL Electrical’s design team had their work cut out for them when they sought to improve on traditional circuit tracing tools and processes. One of the most significant innovations they built into the SureTrace Circuit Tracer Pro TR-950 transmitter is an integrated continuity tester.
Normally, running a continuity test requires a separate tester, but with this model, it’s built right into the transmitter. It’s able to save you time by eliminating the extra step as well as reducing the number of tools you have to carry.
Another outstanding feature is that there’s a voltage meter integrated into the transmitter. Not a voltage presence tester, but a meter that provides an actual measurement. Since verifying that a breaker is de-energized requires a voltage measurement rather than detecting presence or absence, it keeps you from carrying a separate voltmeter or multimeter.
And if that wasn’t enough, they also added ground capability, giving you the ability to verify the wiring configuration of the outlet you’re testing.

Moving on, the ISC-950 Inducting/Sensing Clamp is another multi-function tool. When you can’t reach the termination points to produce a tracing signal, you can use this clamp meter around the conductor and induce the signal you need without having to tie in directly.
Taking it one step further, there’s also a current sensor on board. Not only does it enable contactless tracing, but you can measure amperage up to 600A with the same tool.

Finally, TightSight on the clamp meter and receiver seals the deal for IDEAL. Even though it’s not a brand-new innovation, the dual display design gives you readings on the front of the tool as well as the base. Plus, the receiver’s main and TightSight displays have auto-rotating capability. No matter how you have to angle the meters to reach your target, you’ll be able to easily read your measurements without inducing a trip to the chiropractor.
Additional Highlights
- Accurate Tracing: Trace energized or de-energized systems, including 3-phase, with confidence
- CertainCircuit Tracing: Visibly indicates when the correct circuit has been de-energized at the panel and at the other end of the circuit, making it a one-person job
- Durable Build: Drop tested to 2 meters (6.6 feet)
- BILT App Integration: View interactive instructions right on your phone
